All instructors are Certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructors.
Amber has participated on swimming, diving, and water polo teams throughout her life. She was a Lifeguard throughout all her high school years and has also been a Lifeguard at various events and parties since high school. She has been teaching swimming since 1997. In 2000, she started Amber's Swim School. She graduated college as a certified Kinesiotherapist in which she helps children with special needs discover and develop their motor planning skills. She has been an Adapted PE teacher and a Behavior Therapist. Through all of her experience she has not only learned the importance of water safety but has also learned the importance of teaching others these important skills.
Maddie was raised in Huntington Beach, California, and recently graduated from Edison High School in 2017. She began competitively swimming when she was 7 years old and started playing water polo at the age of 13. At Edison, she participated on the swim and water polo teams for four years as well as coached for the Pacific Sands Cabana Club for two years. Additionally, she was a Huntington Beach Junior Lifeguard for nine years, volunteering as a Safety Aide for two years. Currently, she’s a biology student at UC Santa Barbara in the pre-med program. Maddie enjoys working with children and is excited to help kids become water safe.
Cora was raised in Huntington Beach, CA, where she grew up swimming, surfing, and anything else in the water. She is currently pursuing a career in elementary education in Utah at Utah Valley University. She is a runner on the track and field team at UVU and she is very involved in sports and competition. Cora was raised in a big family and is the second of seven children. She loves teaching children and looks forward to being a part of Amber’s Swim School!
Hannah is a native of Huntington Beach, CA, and from a very young age she spent the majority of her time either in a pool or at the beach. She began competitive swimming at the age of seven and competed in club swimming on and off for years through high school. She assisted in coaching competitive swimmers for over four years and greatly enjoyed helping her swim kiddos succeed and accomplish their goals. In addition, she was a Junior Lifeguard for three years and represented them in competitions. When she is not in the pool, Hannah is studying to become an elementary school teacher! She is CPR and Water Safety Instructor certified and is excited to help kids learn how to swim, as well as spreading water safety awareness (all while having fun!).
Penelope Jacobs grew up in Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley, California, and has loved swimming her whole life. She swam for the Greenbrook swim team for 8 years and grew up swimming in the ocean, lakes, and her personal favorite, the Colorado River. She has always enjoyed helping children feel more comfortable in water and helping them learn how to swim properly and with strength. She is certified in CPR, as well as a Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor. She is really looking forward to working at Amber’s Swim School this year!
